Phenomena
This amazing painting by Pavel Tchelitchew was mentioned in a comment on the previous post. The cloud emanating from the volcano on the right bears an uncanny resemblance to a mushroom cloud with a face although it was painted several years before Hiroshima. The entire painting evokes a sense of disaster and chaos and is filled with a myriad of disturbing details. A very curious painting indeed. I am tempted to describe it as a sort of post apocalyptic Heironymus Bosch.
Many thanks to Makifat for pointing out this fascinating painting and artist.
